We are asked to work out at least three alternative compositions for our natural objects and test colour combinations in our sketchbook. From Easter eggs to Christmas baubles. My sketches became more little drawings, so after the third one I decided to limit to outlining what I would do for the larger image.

Sketch four was to be like three in style.

But I wanted an alternative approach so did sketch 5. I wanted to infill the outlines, inspired by Patrick Caulfield’s paintings, but when I finished doing the outlines I liked them like that. Still curious as to what they would have looked like, I did another little sketch 6 with filled-in outlines.

Just for fun I decided to print out a small copy of the drawing and filled in the outlines there.
